After a couple of false starts, double bookings, call them what you will - I am finally booked to play my ALL TIME TOP 100 tunes at the Big Chill Bar on Sunday 30 March 2008.
In choosing what tunes to play I was immediately faced with a dilemma: what to play when a NORMAL DJ set for me consists of my favourite tunes? I had to come up with a solution that would allow me to play my faves but make it more of a special occasion and throw in some surprises.
So I decided to (mostly) play tracks that I had played out less than three times, which gives me to scope to include all my deep dark prog rock secrets, weirdness from the early 70s, as well as punk, funk, junk and, er gunk from across the ages. I'll be posting a full list of tunes on here in due course - and I doubt whether I'll get through all one hundred in a six hour set, what with all the 20 minute Yes tracks (haha).

- I've been a musician for most of my life, getting into electronic music and sampling when I got together with DJ Dick to form Rockers Hi Fi in 1992. More recently I've combined this with live guitar and recording other instruments, going for an authentic rootsy sound. This has dovetailed nicely with a huge interest in African music, especially funk, highlife and of course afro beat from West Africa in the 1970s. My last album "13 Faces of Lightning Head" was very much in this vein, as well having the usual dub flavours. Right now I'm working on brand new material, with influences ranging from prog rock to hairy funk to orchestral stuff to Bollywood to instrumental hip hop.
